SEATTTLE — Monday’s fireplace on the Dog Resort in SODO has sparked a weekend protest.
Doggy daycare staff, former Dog Resort workers, and canine house owners joined forces to name on the Dog Resort’s proprietor to come clean with what they’re calling unhealthy practices.
“We want Mona to take accountability for her negligence in owning this business and not treating the employees and the dogs well. She needs to be held accountable for her actions and so far she hasn’t taken any blame for anything,” stated Johanna Gotz. She’s the founding father of Pet Lovers Against Dog Resort.
Gotz stated Monday’s fireplace is the latest in a slew of 4 incidents on the Dog Resort’s places this 12 months.
“I was upset. distraught. Really again? It isn’t even a full year yet,” stated Isaac Walker, whose canine Nola was on the Dog Resort when the primary incident occurred this 12 months, a fireplace on the Lake City location. Then in April, a canine named Norie bought out on the SODO location, she was the primary canine to die this 12 months whereas below the Dog Resort’s care.
“In April Norie got hit by a car. She got loose and got hit by a car and I knew Norie and she was the cutest dog,” stated Gotz.

Non-disclosure agreements are usually not enforceable in Washington State after the Silenced No More Act (Bill 1795) was signed into legislation.
Seattle Fire says the reason for Monday’s fireplace at Dog Resort’s SODO location is undetermined.
