The fire broke out around 3 am on April 28 in an area near Everglade and Sylmar.
Firefighters state the fire began in an RV however rapidly infected 2 close-by houses.
As the fire was burning, a 2-year-old Labradoodle called Charlie awakened his owner by grumbling to go outside.
In the yard, Charlie kept barking up until his owner came outdoors and saw the smoke and flames.
After calling 911, Charlie’s owner awakened the next-door neighbors of the affected houses and ensured they got to safety.
The Clovis Fire Department honored Charlie for his brave deed with his really own medal and a firemen helmet.
