HONOLULU (KHNL/Gray News) – A hiker and her canine had been rescued from an off-limits Kaneohe path Monday night.
According to the Honolulu Fire Department, rescuers obtained a 911 name round 5:30 p.m. for a canine that fell off from the Haiku Stairs, also called the Stairway to Heaven climbing path.
First responders started their search efforts on the bottom and air with a rescue helicopter.
Officials mentioned it was reported {that a} 55-pound canine was climbing with its feminine handler earlier than the animal fell about 50 toes.
The canine’s handler descended off the path and stayed at her canine’s facet till assist arrived.
Thanks to the hiker’s cellphone, rescuers mentioned they had been capable of observe her location.
