A dog was killed in a house fire on Willis Street in Bristol on Sunday.
Firefighters responded to a home at 275 Willis St. at about 6 p.m. on Sunday for a structure fire, according to the Bristol Fire Department.
The family was not home when the blaze broke out, but a family dog died during the fire, firefighters said. The condition of a second dog in the home was not immediately clear, according to firefighters.
The home sustained fire damage on the first floor and has been deemed uninhabitable.
The American Red Cross is assisting two adults and a child displaced as a result of the fire.
The Bristol Fire Marshal is investigating the cause and origin of the blaze.
