ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Fire division officers are reminding residents to maintain animals leashed round our bodies of water after being referred to as to Gallup Park to rescue a canine that had fallen via the ice.
Firefighters pulled the canine from the Huron River simply earlier than midday on Friday.
Officials stated the animal was retrieved from the water and was tried to be resuscitated however later died.
“Thank you to the BluePearl Pet Hospital for their extraordinary efforts,” the Ann Arbor Fire Department wrote on social media. “This is the second incident in two years where a dog went out onto the ice along the Huron River and fell in. Please keep dogs on a leash when around water, especially this time of year with unstable ice conditions.”
Department officers famous that ice on the Huron River, and wherever across the metropolis, is protected because of hotter winter temperatures and recent rain.
The City of Ann Arbor requires dogs to be on a leash when walking with their house owners, when in public locations or in autos. Dogs who’re 6 months or older should be licensed with the town and carrying their tag, or the proprietor can obtain a violation.
