LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities in Lancaster County say greater than 30 dogs have been seized as a part of an investigation right into a canine combating ring.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office issued a launch on Friday concerning the case. Deputies served search warrants at two places in South Carolina associated to the investigation.
According to the sheriff’s workplace, 9 dogs have been taken from a home on Great Falls Highway, and 22 dogs have been taken from a location on Pinta Drive. The sheriff’s workplace says the dogs have been American pit bull terriers.
LCSO says it’s an ongoing federal investigation, and so they’re helping the U.S. Department of Agriculture; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; and the U.S. Marshals Service.
The sheriff’s workplace says arrests are pending, however no one was reported to be in custody as of Friday.
