A “devastated” Plymouth family are looking for their animal dog after he ran more than 24 hr earlier. Fiona and Christian Archer have actually been out searching for Springer spaniel Beaker in the fields around Boringdon Park Golf Club, Plympton, and desire anybody who sees him to contact us.
“We are devastated,” Fiona said. “We hope someone can see him. He gets nervous but has never run away before. He’s a long way from home.”
Fiona, from St Judes, explained how she had actually been walking the two-and-a-half-year-old pooch along the Boringdon Park path when they stopped at a level crossing to see a steam train pass by at in between 11.30am and midday on Sunday, July 2.. Beaker wasn’t on a lead and “got spooked” by the sound of the engine and ran.
“He must have been scared,” Fiona said. “He just bolted.”
The couple have actually been searching the location since. Fiona said there was a validated sighting of Beaker at 5.30pm the other day near Boringdon Park Golf Club. They believe the doggy might be laying low in the fields around the north side of the golf course.
Beaker is micro-chipped and is using a tartan collar. Fiona said: “We have actually been recommended not to walk around yelling his name since he may flee.
“So if people spot him, please contact me and say where he was when you saw him. People are willing to look for him.”
If anybody sees Beaker, please contact Fiona through Facebook or call her on 07742 007813.
