DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WAFB) – A Denham Springs Policeman shot a dog after it ‘lunged’ towards him on Monday, November 15, according to authorities.
Sgt. Scott Sterling states the officer was leaving his house to go to work around 5:45 p.m. when he saw a pit-bull mix dog running towards him from throughout the street. The dog was obviously barking and snarling prior to ultimately lunging at the officer.
Sterling states the officer shot the dog 4 times with his responsibility weapon prior to it pulled away back to a house on Carolyn Opportunity.
The officer was not harmed throughout the event.
Cops later on performed a follow-up examination at the home since the dog was not on a leash or consisted of by a fence prior to charging at the officer.
The dog’s owner, Kadondra Ardoin, was charged with a Denham Springs city regulation misdemeanor for offense of the “Leash Law” inside the city limitations of Denham Springs.
The owner transferred the dog for medical attention and is waiting for surgical treatment.
