Synopsis: BORK! An very uncommon pure-blooded corgi from Earth makes its method aboard Deep Space 9 when Quark cuts a deal to acquire it for a high purchaser. After all, a Ferengi without revenue is no Ferengi at all! But Latinum the corgi features unanticipated freight that shakes Captain Benjamin Sisko to the core: a Borg part found by a team sent to reveal Cardassian innovation after the station’s reoccupation.
The Story
Set throughout the latter phases of The Dominion War. This brand-new DS9 story sees Quark stuck to a Pure Bred Corgi and a strange Borg gadget from a handle a purchaser that has actually left them with Quark as security. While the team of Deep Space Nine grows rather keen on the Corgi. The Borg gadget shakes Benjamin Sisko to the core as he remembers his participation in the Battle of Wolf 359. However, Admiral Ross feels that Sisko might be overreacting and would rather Sisko and the group on DS9 discover a method of using the Borg innovation in their continuous battle with the Dominion.
The Artwork
Angel Hernandez and Nick Filardi do a strong job with the art and produce some excellent visuals throughout the book. We get some adorable images with things like seeing Vic Fontaine surrounded by dogs on the Holodeck to edgier images like Captain Sisko trying out the Borg gadget in order to test whether it is safe for Starfleet workers to utilize. The panels where we see Sisko using the Borg gadget appearance actually good and would produce a fantastic poster.
Overall
Writer Mike Chen does a fantastic job of recording the feel and voice of the DS9 characters and pairing Quark with a Corgi Dog is a genius concept. I especially discovered Quark’s business concept of charging citizens of DS9 to stroll the dog to be an enjoyable concept and constant with the sort of plan that Quark would have developed on the program.
The story worrying the Borg innovation was the dominant thread in this book. This makes me question if the Dog is going to be utilized in some method for the Federation’s battle with the Dominion.
