Crystal’s Bassett Creek Dog Park Features Large, Small Dog Parks in Shaded Areas

The metropolis of Crystal took resident suggestions and opened two canine parks in Bassett Creek Park the place dogs and roam with no leash. One park is for big dogs and the opposite is for small dogs. The park incorporates a path, benches, and a water spigot with a washable bowl to water your pup.

“It’s an exciting time in Crystal. We’ve had one dog park for many years and through a planning process over the last five years, we’ve developed two dog parks,” stated John Elholm, Crystal Recreation Director.  “In 2017, we did a park system master plan and we looked at all the parks and amenities in the parks and really the need for a different dog park came out of that process. So we spent the last five  years working on planning for that and as we looked at the design. The public had a lot of input on what the final product is.”

Park goers will discover the massive, shaded space for dogs in addition to a handicapped accessible path that goes across the perimeter of every canine park. There are additionally benches with concrete pads, so somebody in a wheelchair can sit alongside somebody on a bench.
