PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — With simply a couple of days prior to International Harry Potter Day, both muggles and puggles got a running start in commemorating Sunday in Philadelphia.

Welcome to “Dogwarts” at Craft Hall in Northern Liberties, where all 4 “dog” homes were contending for the quidditch match champion.

“Immediately when you signed in, everybody was arranged with the arranging hat for their homes,” Nicole Perry, a corgi owner, said.

The professional athletes dropped their broomsticks and rather decided to utilize the magic of their 4 legs to capture the golden snitch.

“From the themed beverages to all the dog toys to having all your homes and whatever, it’s simply incredible to see,” Perry said.

“The Harry Pawter” occasion remained in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

“We enjoy seeing the neighborhood come out to have an enjoyable day. Who does not enjoy Harry Potter? I’m a big fan,” Lindsey King, the occasion planner with the PSPCA, said.


Aside from all the enjoyable, follows the Harry Potter themed beverages likewise approach PSPCA.

“Adoptions are down across the country and we see that in our own shelter. So simply going out here, getting our name out here to teach individuals about our life conserving work is actually essential,” King said.

“Bean here and I are huge ‘Harry Potter’ fans and we already had the golden snitch dog toy at my house and I resembled we require to a quidditch match,” Perry said.
