With the approval of Bluffton Village Council, a neighborhood group will proceed planning and fundraising for a brand new canine park, with development set for spring.
At the October 21 Council assembly, Councilor Ben Stahl reported on a collection of conferences held by the Parks and Recreation Committee with Matthew Ellerbrock, a neighborhood resident who has been exploring the thought. Stahl acknowledged that the park is proposed for Village-owned land on Lake Street, however could be constructed fully with donations.
The same public-private partnership is the Bluffton Disc Golf Association, which created an elaborate and common disc golf course on the Bluffton Village Park. The Bluffton Community Dog Park Association would have an analogous settlement with the Village that ensures the ability is open to the general public and is nicely managed and maintained.
Ellerbrock was current on the assembly to reply questions from Council. He’d already labored with Village administration to provide you with a proposed format for the park, which would come with fenced areas for big and small dogs, a water fountain and off avenue parking. He stated a Village requirement to pave the parking space could balloon the finances to round $60,000.
