Dogs Trust, which has a website in Basildon, is appealing, this Valentine’s Day, to dog-lovers to take in a dog on a short-lived basis.

In 2022 the charity got 51,804 forfeiture queries, breaking Dogs Trust records for the variety of demands ever gotten in one year.

Dog Trust’s Home from Home cultivating plan allows the charity to take care of more dogs and is necessary throughout the existing need for its help.

The plan counts on volunteer foster carers who care for dogs for a couple of days, weeks, or months till they discover their permanently houses, assisting make certain dogs get all the TLC they require, at a time when they require it most.

Kelly McMaster, Dogs Trust Basildon Centre Manager, said: “We take care of countless dogs every year, however we just have a limited variety of kennels. Therefore, the more dogs that can be cultivated, the more we can take care of.

Dogs Trust offers food, bed linen, and any other practical things the dog might require whilst in foster care, along with covering the cost of needed veterinary treatment.

Foster carers will require to live within driving range of the Basildon Rehoming Centre or less than a 15-minute drive away if you cannot offer your own car transportation for the dog.
