A lacking canine walker discovered lifeless close to a Kent seashore was a “trailblazer in life”, her household have mentioned in a tribute.
Claire Knights, 54, was reported lacking from Upstreet on 23 August and located lifeless two days later.
In a press release issued by way of police, her household mentioned they had been struggling to return to phrases with their loss.
Kent Police has arrested a person on suspicion of homicide who was being assessed by medical professionals. An inquest opened on Monday.
The household tribute mentioned: “Claire was a loving mum, associate, daughter and sister – an incredible modern artist, a trailblazer in life.
“She liked animals and, specifically, her springer spaniel, Zebulon.
“We, the household, are struggling to return to phrases with the very fact she is now not with us. We want to thank pals and the neighborhood for his or her lively assist and sort phrases.”
‘Outstanding artist’
Ms Knights was found lifeless by her household between St Nicholas Wade and Minnis Bay, whereas they had been in search of her on 25 August.
It is believed she had been walking her spaniel when she disappeared.
An artwork college, The Margate School, paid tribute to Ms Knights final week, describing her as “an excellent and distinctive artist, whose work mirrored her complicated, loving nature”.
Opening an inquest on Monday, coroner Catherine Wood mentioned the preliminary given explanation for loss of life was blunt-force harm and drowning.
Ms Wood added that Ms Knights’ loss of life was “violent or unnatural”.
The inquest was suspended as a prison inquiry continues.
