Police hurried to the scene in Ackroyd Drive where the boy suffered numerous bite injuries at a play area in Ackroyd Drive, Poplar at 3.20pm on Saturday.
The boy’s troubled mom accompanied the kid to health center where his injuries were designated “non-life-threatening”.
The dog’s owner, apparently cautioned of bringing the family pets into the estate’s shared play ground, was likewise bitten however declined health center treatment.
Three dogs were taken by authorities after the attack.
Labour Cllr Mohammad Chowdhury informed the Standard: “The child was playing in the park within the estate.
“Dogs are not allowed in the park. Residents tell me that the owner has already been told the owner not to bring the dog in to the park.”
He included: “The boy has been taken to hospital by ambulance and is accompanied by the mother. She was really shocked.”
A Met spokesperson said: “Police were called at about 15:20hrs on Saturday, 8 July to reports of a child attacked by a dog in a recreation ground near to Ackroyd Drive,E3.
“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.
“At the scene a 4-year-old boy was found with bite injuries. He was taken to hospital as a precaution and his injuries have been assessed as not life-threatening.
“Three dogs were seized by officers and will be assessed.
“The owner of the dogs was also treated at the scene for a bite injury but declined to go to hospital.
“No arrests and enquiries continue.”
