Area residents may have the chance to fulfill native service dogs and their handlers on the Canine Companions Meet and Greet on September 18 from 1 to 4 on the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.

Michele Paden a volunteer with Canine Companions was not too long ago a visitor on KTLO’s Talk of the Town with Sammy Raycraft. She says the occasion is a good way for the general public to ask questions on service dogs and find out about how they provide help to these in want.

Recently Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared September “National Service Dog Month in Arkansas” in an effort to “educate the people of Arkansas about the benefits of service dogs and the laws protecting them.”

Paden who has skilled service dogs for “Paws for Justice,” a department of Canine Companions, went on to share simply how vital these dogs are for individuals and particularly kids having to navigate the intimidating panorama of the courtroom system.

Light refreshments can be served and “Pawicasso” paintings can be on show and available for a donation to Canine Companions. The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas is positioned at 1042 Highland Circle in Mountain Home.
