Bodycam footage has been launched displaying the second a police canine apprehended a burglar in a backyard centre.
Vinnie and his handler have been despatched to Dobbies Garden Centre in Wyton, close to Huntingdon, on 23 October after police have been contacted by the safety firm that screens the shop’s CCTV.
Cambridgeshire Police stated digital camera operators watched as Ricky Homer stole charity tins from the tills and stuffed trolleys with items from the shop.
Homer, 36, and of no fastened handle, pleaded responsible to housebreaking and possession of sophistication B medicine and was jailed for a yr at Cambridge Crown Court.
Det Con Neil Patrick described him as “an opportunist burglar with a lot of crimes beneath his belt”.
