San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputies shot a person after he allegedly stabbed a police canine within the face Thursday morning.
The man, whom sheriff’s officers didn’t instantly identify, was approached in his car by deputies round 5 a.m. Thursday. The deputies deemed the car, parked on the aspect of the highway close to Highway 99 and East Frontage Road, to be “suspicious,” officers mentioned in a press release.
The man within the car had a warrant out for his arrest, sheriff’s officers mentioned, and he refused to exit the car when deputies requested him to take action.
Just after 6 a.m., the person allegedly exited the car armed with a knife, and stabbed a police canine’s face.
Deputies shot the person, who was transported to a close-by hospital. His situation was not instantly recognized
