MOUNT VERNON — Knox County Career Center’s (KCCC) Building Trades program
hosted its annual Dog Days of Summer occasion at KCCC on Oct. 6.

Juniors and seniors in Building Trades had the chance to satisfy and speak with contractors all through the three-hour occasion.

There had been 30 business representatives from varied building firms who attended the occasion.

“We are grateful for the contractors who took time to be with Mr. (Colby) Clippinger and his students,” mentioned Superintendent Kathy Greenich.

Students had the chance to have lunch with the contractors, ask them questions, and get acquainted with them.

Laborers Local 1216 sponsored the Dog Days of Summer occasion and offered the entire meals.

“We are very grateful and appreciative to Laborers Local 1216 for sponsoring the event
and supporting our students,” Clippinger mentioned. “It was nice to have the building open to contractors once more.

“We recognize so most of the contractors coming to this occasion and recognizing the worth of the scholars popping out of KCCC.

“They had the chance to speak with every pupil, discover out their pursuits, and get the primary likelihood of recruiting them at their business.

“Dog Days is a great opportunity for our students to speak to potential employers and learn the importance of shaking hands, eye contact, and how to handle an informal interview.”
