DICKINSON (WBNG) — The Broome County Dog Shelter is now at complete capability and it is wanting to the neighborhood for help.
As of Wednesday early morning, the shelter has more than 50 dogs in its care. The shelter said it requires volunteers to help with dog walking, cleaning up tasks and other responsibilities.
The shelter said it’s beginning a promoting program to increase its capability abilities. This will permit the shelter to increase its capability. Volunteers will have the ability to look after among their dogs as they await their permanently home.
“Give them a foster home for a month, two months, maybe forever,” said Shelter Manager Kelly Conlon. “We really need some of these dogs to get out of the shelter so that we can help more but our numbers are at a record high.”

Conlon said 90% of the dogs that enter the shelter are wanders off gotten by animal control. She said animal owners ought to leash up their family pets and ensure gates are closed. Additionally, collars ought to consist of current contact details.
