An 11-year-old boy was bit by a dog while walking on playing fields in Wickham Market.
The incident happened in the field to the west of the east Suffolk village between 3pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday, Suffolk police said.
The boy was approached by a small white dog that bit him on the hand and the leg.
The owner of the dog, a woman described as being over 60 years old and was wearing a long coat, had two dogs that were both off their leads.
The dog that bit the child was wearing a blue jacket.
