BOSTON – Boston Mayor Michelle Wu revealed a brand-new “dog friendly” policy on Thursday impacting outside dining areas in the city.
Businesses can now apply for a variance to invite dogs into their beer gardens and restaurant patio areas. The modification will work as quickly as June 1.
“We’re dedicated to making Boston a lively, family-friendly City, which suggests reconsidering our outside areas to much better build neighborhood,” Wu said in a declaration. “Residents and little business owners have actually been excited for four-legged member of the family to be able to enjoy our outside areas too, so we enjoy to make this regulative modification enabling dogs on outside patio areas and beer gardens.”
Pet owners will be accountable for the habits of their dog, and the dog will require to be leashed. Dogs need to remain outside, and there can’t be cooking in the location where dogs are permitted. Additionally, workers can’t touch any dogs.
The cofounder of Aeronaut Brewing said in a declaration that it’s been “frustrating” to need to turn away clients with dogs from their Allston beer garden.
“We’re delighted about the City’s choice to invite dogs in beer gardens and Aeronaut Allston aspires to welcome this policy modification,” Ronn Friedlander said.
