A Boston law enforcement officer was bitten by a dog in Dorchester Wednesday afternoon, triggering another officer to fire chance ats the animal, authorities said.
“The officer was attacked,” said Sergeant Detective John Boyle, an authorities department representative. “The other officer discharged his firearm towards the dog.”
The occurrence occurred around 1:33 p.m. at 28 Michigan Ave. while the officers were “conducting police business,” Boyle said.
The officer was required to a regional healthcare facility with non-life-threatening injuries, Boyle said. The 2nd officer was likewise hospitalized, following department treatment, cops said.
The dog’s condition was not launched. No additional details was right away available.
