Six puppies have been rescued by Wiltshire Council after they had been deserted by the aspect of a highway.
The eight-week-old crossbreeds had been discovered by a member of the general public within the Ashton Keynes space of Wiltshire on Monday.
Nick Holder, public safety cupboard member for the authority, mentioned the puppies had been presumably a poodle cross.
He added that if nobody got here ahead to say them, they might be rehomed by Bath Cats and Dogs Home.
The fawn-coloured litter of puppies had been noticed on the roadside within the village of Leigh.
The council mentioned the dogs had been a mixture of sexes however not one of the animals had been microchipped.
Mr Holder added the dogs weighed between 3kgs (6.6lbs) and 4.5kgs (9.9lbs ) and all seemed to be wholesome.
“We will maintain them in our stray kennels for seven days, which is a authorized requirement, and if nobody comes ahead to say them they are going to be rehomed by Bath Cats and Dogs Home who we work intently with for all our stray dogs,” he mentioned.
