Actress Angie Harmon stated this week that her household canine was shot and killed by a person delivering groceries to her North Carolina home.
“This Easter weekend a person delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our valuable Oliver,” the actress wrote in an Instagram post Monday. “He bought out of his automobile, delivered the meals & THEN shot our canine.”
Harmon stated her home’s safety digital camera was being charged on the time of the incident and hadn’t recorded something.
“The police let him go (as a result of) he claimed ‘self protection.’ He didn’t have a scratch or chew on him nor have been his pants torn,'” Harmon wrote.
The “Rizzoli & Isles” star claimed the supply person’s identification did not seem to match the title on the Instacart app, which she stated recognized the patron as a lady named Merle.
“He shot our canine with my daughters & myself at home & simply saved saying, ‘yeah, I shot your canine. Yeah I did,'” Harmon wrote. “We are utterly traumatized & past devastated on the lack of our beloved boy & member of the family. #RIP OLLIE 🐶🐾🕊️🌈.”
When reached by “Good Morning America,” Instacart, which affords grocery supply companies in all 50 states, condemned the incident.
“We have been deeply saddened and disturbed to listen to about this incident,” Instacart stated in an announcement. “We haven’t any tolerance for violence of any variety, and the patron account was instantly suspended from our platform. We have been in direct contact with the shopper and are cooperating with legislation enforcement on their investigation.”
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, a supply driver advised officers on Saturday that he was delivering meals on the home when the canine attacked him and he fired a single gunshot in self protection. The police additionally stated one other canine was current on the home however “didn’t attack.”
