Angie Harmon’s Easter weekend was upended by tragedy.
The Rizzoli & Isles actress revealed that her household’s canine, Oliver, was shot and killed by a supply employee. “This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver,” she alleged on Instagram. Harmon claims the driving force “got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog. Our ring camera was charging in the house, which he saw & then knew he wasn’t being recorded.”
Harmon went on to clarify that the suspect was launched from custody. “The police let him go b/c he claimed ‘self defense’. He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn. He was shopping under a woman’s identity named Merle.”
The Law & Order actress additionally mentioned that she was home on the time of the incident. “He shot our canine with my daughters & myself at home & simply saved saying, ‘yeah, I shot your canine. Yeah I did,'” she wrote. “We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member.”
“We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident,” a consultant for Instacart instructed Entertainment Weekly. “We have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform. We have been in direct contact with the customer and are cooperating with law enforcement on their investigation.”
TMZ reported that the incident occurred at Harmon’s home in Charlotte, N.C. A consultant for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department provided the next assertion to EW: “On Saturday, March 30, 2024, shortly earlier than midday, officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s South Division responded to a residence… for a report of a canine being shot. Upon arrival, officers situated and spoke to all concerned events.”
