Today,
a Humboldt County jury convicted 31-year-old Jake Henry Combs of
first diploma homicide for the January 6, 2022 killing of 25-year-old
Trevor John Earley of Alderpoint. Additionally, the jury discovered Combs
deliberately discharged a firearm, inflicting Earley’s demise. Combs
faces 50 years to life in jail.
After
hours of socializing collectively, Earley, Combs and others, have been at
Combs’ home when his giant aggressive canine bit by way of Earley’s
nostril. Earley turned upset and threatened the canine. Sometime later,
whereas Earley chatted on the entrance porch with a good friend, Combs
retrieved his loaded 9mm pistol from his backpack, walked as much as
Earley from the facet, and, with out warning, Combs shot Earley within the
head. Combs instantly fled the scene, however was apprehended by legislation

case was prosecuted with help from District Attorney

Kaleb Cockrum on September 15, 2023.
