ABILENE, Texas — She was a mom, a friend to lots of, and a better half. Her name was Pamela Casey. Almost a year ago she passed away in a bike crash. Currently, the family still keeps in mind that dreadful day.
“She was the best person I ever met. She served her community well, she served her family well, she served her grandkids well,” said Joshua Casey, Pamela Casey’s Surviving Husband. “Anybody who had a relationship with Pam Casey, their life is not as good without her,” said Casey.
It was getaway time for the Casey family. Pamela and Joshua Casey were taking a trip on their motorbike to see their child. Then all of a sudden, things deviated for the worst. Joshua Casey, Pamela Casey’s making it through spouse, remembers what led up to the motorbike crash.
“We were on an older antique Honda Gold Wing. It was in great shape mechanically,” Joshua Casey remembered.
“After all the investigation was done, we had forensic, tire specialists come and look at the motorcycle and take parts of the motorcycle and take it to a lab,” said Casey.
“The conclusion was it was a freak accident. It was a vile steam in the rear tire ruptured and the result of that was Pam not making it through that crash,” said the Father of Three.
Pamela Casey was simply 45 at the time of her death. Due to the effect of the crash, Joshua Casey’s left ankle and ideal shoulder were broken. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the mishap occurred on Highway 36 near FM 60 in Burleson County, Texas. To keep her memory alive Casey and members of the neighborhood have one concept in mind.
“Pam’s Paw-Vilion is what we envision eventually building when the city decides when Camp Barkeley is going to be permanently located,” said Casey.
“We thought, how can we honor Pam as a family, as a community. Pam was already having dialogue about what we have to do because in the last 12 years, we’ve been involved in identifying a problem in the community and trying to come up with a solution for it,” said Casey.
Pamela’s spouse, 3 kids and 5 dogs are all the remains. As for the Dog Park to honor her, that is still in the works.
