Thad Cooper, 56, of Michigamme Township, was trying to find his canine Friday afternoon when he noticed its head poking above the ice greater than 100 yards (meters) from shore on Lake Michigamme, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office mentioned.
Cooper kayaked onto the lake to attempt to rescue the canine however fell in himself and couldn’t get out, the workplace mentioned.
