Thad Cooper, 56, of Michigamme Township, was looking for his canine Friday afternoon when he noticed its head poking above the ice greater than 100 yards (meters) from shore on Lake Michigamme, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office stated.
Cooper kayaked onto the lake to attempt to rescue the canine however fell in himself and couldn’t get out, the workplace stated.
A sheriff’s dive workforce reached Cooper with a flotation board and pulled him to shore. The canine then was additionally rescued, the workplace stated. Cooper and his canine spent about an hour and a half within the water.
