A devoted animal management officer, a gaggle of out-of-state hunters and a path of steak has led to the seize of Pua, a canine who captivated a small Maine city when he went lacking in June.
Pua, named after the cuddly pig within the Disney animated movie “Moana,” is a Great Dane and German shepherd combine. He is black and grey, 3 years old, and was working wild up till Saturday, when he was caught at a camp in Corinna.
Pua ran from his new proprietor the day he was adopted and brought to his new home within the Piscataquis County city of Dover-Foxcroft. He was caught two weeks later and escaped once more after just some hours. Since then, he has doubtless roamed a whole bunch of miles throughout his tri-county journey, making stops in Penobscot, Piscataquis and Somerset counties.
