Your furry member of the family are welcome to cool down at these 9 dog-friendly beaches at Michigan state parks.
If you prepare your outdoor camping journeys around your fur children, these 6 parks are for you. Between the 6 of them, there are 9 dog beaches.
Here’s the list:
- Burt Lake State Park: A designated pet-friendly beach lies on the south end of the park on Burt Lake.
- Dodge #4 State Park: A designated pet-friendly beach lies simply outside the designated swim location on Cass Lake.
- Harrisville State Park: A designated pet-friendly beach, available to campers and non-campers, lies in the modern-day camping site on Lake Huron.
- South Higgins Lake State Park: There are 3 pet-friendly beach locations on South Higgins Lake at this state park, consisting of one along an area of coastline in the day-use location near the east border of the park; one in the camping site, west of the boat gain access to website; and a campers-only dog beach near the west border of the camping site.

- Tawas Point State Park: The pet-friendly beach lies in between the camping site and the lighthouse on Tawas Bay.
- Wilderness State Park: This state park has 2 pet-friendly beaches. The initially one is the location simply east of the park head office building surrounding to the picnic location and down a little course. The 2nd is a location on the west end of the East Lake Lakeshore Campground.
Pets need to be continued a 6-foot leash even if they remain in the water.
In addition, family pets are permitted along the coastlines of state parks other than in designated swimming locations and other locations signed otherwise.
