An 85-year-old Florida female was killed in an alligator attack while she was walking her dog Monday.
The lethal encounter took place simply after midday at Spanish Lakes Fairways, a 55-plus living neighborhood, near Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County.
Residents told WPTV that the female was walking her dog when an alligator got it. She attempted to get the dog far from the gator and was killed.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission authorities said the female who was killed was 85. Her name wasn’t launched.
St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said the alligator was close to 11 feet long.
An alligator trapper was contacted us to the scene and had the ability to capture it and eliminate it from the area.
