Birmingham police are investigating after a girl’s physique was discovered Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, on an Ensley roadside.

A girl discovered lifeless on the facet of an Ensley street was killed in a canine attack, authorities introduced Monday.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office recognized the sufferer as Sharon Kaye Billups Portis. She was 63 and lived in Birmingham.

The discovery was made simply earlier than 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, within the 2000 block of 18th Street Ensley.

Portis was present in a grassy space simply toes off 18th Street. Her bicycle, which she was identified to trip usually, was simply toes from her.

She was pronounced lifeless on the scene at 6:45 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing by Birmingham police.
