TORRINGTON — A canine died early Friday morning when a fireplace broke out in a home on Hoffman Street, Deputy Fire Marshal Phil Hearn mentioned.

According to Hearn, firefighters encountered the blaze on the second flooring of the home round 2 a.m. Friday. He mentioned that is the place the fireplace began earlier than spreading to the third-floor attic as properly. The explanation for the fireplace remains to be beneath investigation.

It took firefighters round an hour to get the blaze beneath management, Hearn mentioned.

Hearn mentioned the residents of the home escaped with out damage, however a canine died. The Red Cross supplied support to the residents as a result of the home is at the moment uninhabitable, Hearn mentioned.
