The BC SPCA is now caring for a 4-month-old puppy, now fittingly named Pebbles, that was so hungry and uncared for that she resorted to consuming rocks.

According to the animal welfare organization, when the canine arrived on the vet she was “cold and motionless.” Pebbles was given fluids and was warmed up, at which level she began to lift her head and wag her tail.

However, after analyzing her stomach, the vet grew to become involved. An x-ray confirmed that the tiny puppy had a stomach filled with rocks.

“Being the runt of her littler, poor Pebbles constantly lost the battle for her share of food, leading to malnourishment. Desperate for sustenance, Pebbles must have resorted to eating anything she could find, including rocks,” mentioned the BC SPCA.

Pebbles was saved underneath shut look ahead to a number of days within the ICU, and additional x-rays confirmed that the rocks she ate have been passing by means of her digestive system naturally.
