A 3-year-old boy and his grandmother had been rushed to the hospital after they had been attacked by their canine in southwest Miami-Dade Wednesday, officers stated.
The incident occurred within the 24400 block of Southwest 182nd Avenue.
Miami-Dade Police officers stated officers responded to a medical name probably involving a canine chunk, and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officers confirmed a baby was taken from the scene to a neighborhood hospital.
Officials with MIami-Dade Animal Services stated the boy and his grandmother had been attacked by the household’s 2-year-old German Shepherd.
They stated the attack was unprovoked and brought on intensive accidents to each victims.
“Due to the character of the attack and the severity of the accidents, the canine can be humanely euthanized,” Animal Services stated in an announcement.
