KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Each yr, because the climate will get hotter, cats are inclined to have litters between March and September. Many of these kittens are introduced right into a shelter and have to be fostered or adopted.
In preparation for kitten season, Young-Williams Animal Center is asking for donations earlier than what spokesperson Chelcie Bowman calls “adorable madness” begins.
“They can reproduce multiple times within that season, producing hundreds of kittens, and then their kittens within that season can start producing kittens,” Bowman stated. “Kitten season, while these things are cute, it’s a lot. We get thousands of kittens in and have to send them out to foster until they’re big enough for adoption.”
Young-Williams has a listing of issues they want forward of kitten season on their want listing, and anyone can donate right here.
Many objects are wanted, together with toys, litter containers, meals, and kitten system.
