Tuesday night a female crashed into a truck that remained in a building zone on U.S. Highway 70 near Wilson Mills.
Around 10:30 p.m. the female was driving west on U.S. 70 on her method home to Holly Springs when she wandered to the right in a building zone and struck a DOT contracted truck.
The 22-year-old was charged with DWI, open container and failure to preserve lane control.
She suffered small injuries and was required to WakeMed Hospital. Her animal cat remained in the car and was killed in the crash.
The truck had actually been equipped with an unique rear-end safety gadget to safeguard concrete barriers. Both the safety gadget and the driver’s car were badly harmed in the crash.
Both westbound lanes on U.S. 70 were obstructed by the wreckage following the mishap.
The examination is continuous.
