Owner Natalie Bowman, 32, embraced Finn the cat in 2017 when he was simply 3 and a half months old.
Finn, now six-years-old, is over 4ft-long (1.3m), the typical height of a nine-year-old kid standing.
Natalie, who resides in San Carlos, California, United States, invests $150 (£124) on food each month and feeds him 3 to 4 times every day.
Natalie says observers are frequently shocked at the furry felines’ ginormous size.
She said: “It’s truly amusing, they believe he’s a dog, and after that when they get closer they state oh my god it’s a cat and they enjoy him.”
Natalie says the cat frequently scares unwary visitors when he approaches.
She included: “I’ve had service individuals occur to repair things, it’s constantly enjoyable to see grown males get shocked by my cat, they frequently state he appears like a bobcat or a wildcat.”
Despite his size, Finn is a mild giant and gets along splendidly with Natalie’s other cat.
“It took them a bit to adapt to each other, however they enjoy each other now,” she said.
“Finn is truly docile and curious, he is so amusing and is really clingy and caring, he enjoys cuddles and to be spooned.
She included: “[Maine coons] require a great deal of time and love, he has separation stress and anxiety and I in fact take him into the workplace often.
“He is a really friendly cat and he enjoys to talk, he’s really loud.”
