UPDATE: One female, 3 dogs, one cat pass away in house fire

One individual is dead and another was hurt Wednesday in a morning house fire in DeQuincy. The Ward Six Fire Protection District 1 was dispatched to a house fire in the 1100 block of Rigmaiden Cemetery Road around 6 a.m. Wednesday. Fire teams were informed there was a victim caught inside the home.

Upon arrival, firemens tried to get in the residence, however heavy fire and a partial roofing collapse required teams to enter into a protective fire attack, according to details launched by Ward Six Fire Protection District 1.
