TYLER, Texas (KETK) – East Texas animal rescues are crammed with cats and never sufficient persons are excited about adopting, some neighborhood members have determined to get entangled.

“It’s just an epidemic,” Richard Duncan, of the Duncan Home for Wayward Cats, stated.
Stewart’s Donnybrook Automotive managing accomplice Gary Stewart noticed the stray downside and determined to do one thing about it.
“They take care of these animals that nobody else wants to take care of, so I can’t do that, I don’t have the facilities or the time to devote that to those animals, but they do,” Stewart stated.
He turned to the neighborhood for assist and commenced accepting donations of cat meals at his Tyler auto store. Taking donations to at least one rescue in Henderson and one other in Kilgore.
“It just exploded, you know, and we have people bringing food, amazon shows up with food and people I don’t even know show up with food that just love animals, like we do,” Stewart stated.

Most rescues are dealing with thousand greenback payments each single month so any little little bit of meals goes a great distance.
“It’s really helpful, not just in the supplies, but it helps us be able to put our money towards the vet bills and other needs as well,” Heather Payer-Smith, proprietor of the Cat’s Meow Rescue, stated.
Both rescues are past blessed by what Stewart and the neighborhood are doing for them, and so they hope it is going to assist folks see the true downside in the case of strays.
“Bring visibility to the fact that there are people out there trying to help the animals if you can’t adopt or spay neuter or trap, you can donate, you can help that way and be part of the solution,” Duncan stated.
Stewart stated that he’ll take donations for so long as he can and has already delivered his first carload of cat meals. He shared that he hopes to finally be capable to obtain sufficient donations to develop the assistance to different native rescues.
