Two stray dogs caught by AVS after allegedly attacking cats, exhibiting aggression in direction of residents

SINGAPORE — The Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) has captured two stray dogs which had allegedly killed dozens of neighborhood cats, and displayed aggressive behaviour in direction of residents.

In a media assertion on Friday (15 September), AVS stated that it was alerted to the sighting of three free-roaming dogs at Fernvale Lane in Sengkang on 8 September.

The dogs have been reported to have been behaving aggressively in direction of residents within the space.

Upon capturing two of the three dogs, AVS noticed that they resembled those that had been beforehand reported for attacking cats in a number of areas, together with Ang Mo Kio.

AVS is at present caring for the dogs, and can work with animal welfare group companions to rehome the dogs.

Previous assaults by stray canine pack

Two neighborhood cats in Toa Payoh have been recent victims of the pack of dogs.

According to a coordinator from casual animal welfare group Kim Keat Cats, following a deadly assault of one of many cats on 24 August, AVS had mobilised a group to patrol the Kim Keat property in Toa Payoh.
