TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Not all heroes put on capes. Some, like Angelo Ciammaichella, carry a ladder.
“It takes heart to actually want to save cats,” stated Ciammaichella.
When he’s not trimming bushes he dedicates his free time to rescuing cats caught in them.
“When you climb up the tree and the cat keeps climbing up higher, climbing up farther.”
On Friday, he traveled about two hours, from Cleveland to avoid wasting a cat caught in a Toledo tree.
“The cat was up there for three days, it was raining and windy, and the cat was hanging on for dear life,” Ciammaichella stated. “I cried. I’m not proud of it but I cried. It’s one of those as I was up there it’s windy, the branch I’m on isn’t very strong, the cat could fall, I’m scared.”
Although there may be a whole web site devoted to rescuing cats in bushes, it’s referred to as , lots of them cost a charge.
“It shouldn’t be about money,” stated Ciammaichella.
So, with such excessive threat and no reward, you may be questioning, Why does Ciammaichella select to do one thing like this?
“I know what it’s like to go and need help and no one would come help to where you see a cat up in a tree, you know it’s scared, I know what that’s like,” stated Ciammaichella.
After doing this for greater than two years now, he says he’s not stopping any time quickly. “My goal is to at some point do this full time and simply support myself by just sharing the content and my stories with people.”
And for those who ask Angleo about being a hero, he’ll disagree.
“All I’m doing is just something just out of the kindness of my heart. Does it make me maybe a nice guy … Sure, but I don’t know about a hero,” stated Ciammaichella.
Ciammaichella doesn’t cost individuals for his providers however he does settle for donations.
