The kittens, now named Holly, Elf, and Santa, are being monitored by the cattery supervisor.
“It’s not the first time; it will never end up being the last time animals are abandoned,” DSPCA spokesperson Gillian Bird stated.
“At least in this case, the animals were put in a pet carrier; they weren’t just dumped in a cardboard box. The kittens were found very quickly by staff, and they are doing well.

Ms Bird added that whereas abandoning animals is rarely welcome, the centre acknowledges that they “never know why somebody has to do this, so it’s difficult to judge”.
