Fostering has a significant effect on a foster pet’s life. Foster animals have the opportunity to leave the busy, often chaotic and stressful life of a shelter and temporarily live in a cozy home until they can find a home of their own. In the foster home they receive plenty of one-on-one attention, helping them to become socialized or recover from a medical event. Foster families have a chance to teach them good manners, improving their odds of finding a great permanent home.
During this holiday season, I would like to take the opportunity to thank our amazing foster families.

We have folks who have been fostering for years, and folks who have just started. Some are bottle feeding tiny kittens every few hours, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. One family took a pregnant beagle home, and she gave birth to 11 puppies! This family has been cleaning up after and taking care of them for weeks. Another family received a call from us to foster a momma cat and three kittens. When they arrived to pick them up, we had added four more kittens that had come in and the mom accepted and cared for all seven! Some are taking care of older animals in their final years and giving them a soft place to land, while others are taking care of animals that need medical attention.
They are all amazing people, and we could not do what we do without them. Thank you!
