Following the return of characters Asuka Kazama and Leroy Smith, Bandai Namco has actually revealed the Tekken 8 arrival of Lili – complete name Emilie De Rochefort – the Monegasques teen with a fondness for Lolita style and an elegant, dance-like battling design.
She’s signed up with, naturally, by her family pet cat Salt (which comes as a good compliment to the return of Leroy’s family pet dog, Sugar).
In revealing the arrival of Lili, series director Katsuhiro Harada called out the fantastic work of artist Jasmin Darnell, a New Zealand-based artist who created the character’s brand-new attire.
‘I met her amazing talent in 2017, and a few years later I ordered Lili’s outfit style from her,’ Harada said. ‘I was lucky enough to order a design from her before she became famous!’
Darnell specialises in historic and fairy tale-like style, with a lot of her appearances including a great deal of fantastical and womanly touches, apparently influenced by 19th Century illustration. Her work is definitely a good match for Lili.
