A burglar who stole a bag of cat litter throughout a break-in at a susceptible particular person’s bungalow has been put behind bars.
Thomas Brown entered the home of 1 resident at tried door handles of others at a care centre in Sunderland within the early hours of August 13.
The 33-year-old, of Vilette Road, Sunderland, who has convictions for 115 earlier offences and was on a group order on the time, admitted housebreaking and tried housebreaking.
Mr Recorder Tom Little KC sentenced him to 26 months behind bars and informed him:”You have been seen getting into a type of bungalows after which eradicating a cat litter bag.”
The courtroom heard when Brown was arrested he not had the cat litter however was carrying a bracelet, which is of unknown origin, when he was arrested.
Robin Patton, defending, mentioned Brown, who was on valium when he dedicated the offences, has “little or no recollection” of what occurred and “wants assist”.
