Towns throughout our Valley are cracking down on animal cruelty, in efforts to guard animals like dogs and cats.

The City of Campbell handed an ordinance final week implementing stricter legal guidelines on tethering and out of doors enclosures. But over in Struthers, they’re seeing a distinct difficulty. The variety of stray animals, particularly cats round city.

That’s why metropolis council is taking motion to strengthen legal guidelines within the metropolis to verify the difficulty does not worsen.

In the City of Struthers, there’s an ordinance that is been in place for a decade now that prohibits any feeding or caretaking of stray dogs.

“We need the animals to be introduced indoors and to be protected,” stated Mayor Cat Cercone Miller. “But after they’re roaming the neighborhood, they’re multiplying and there is increasingly cats in these totally different areas inflicting a whole lot of issues.”

The variety of stray cats on the town has some residents upset. Some owners are identified for feeding stray cats, main lots of of cats to wreak havoc on yards and gardens with undesirable feces round city.
