Sheffield cat shelter ‘more in-demand than ever’ to carry 126th birthday road social gathering

The charity has deliberate stay music, video games stalls with many prizes to be received, stay streams from the cats’ rooms, and stalls promoting desserts, cat objects and vegetation.

Sheffield Cats Shelter is holding a road social gathering on Travis Place on Saturday, September 9, with video games, prizes, stalls, and its two new patrons in attendance.

Since it started in 1987, the shelter has by no means been extra in-demand. They have by no means given up on a cat, by no means put a wholesome cat to sleep, and have helped tens of hundreds of cats discover new houses and higher lives.

Dancing on Ice’s Frankie Seaman, who grew to become the primary patron of the charity this week, stated: “I couldn’t be more honoured to be a patron for The Sheffield Cats Shelter. Being from Sheffield, and being a cat lover, from the minute I walked inside the shelter I felt like I’d found my people.”

Frankie was born in Sheffield, and located fame as an expert skater. In 2018 she shared the ice with a really acquainted skating companion – her husband, former England goalkeeper David Seaman.

The charity’s second patron is Joann Fletcher, one of many world’s main Egyptologists and BBC documentary presenter, who’s from South Yorkshire. She stated: “I am thrilled to be a patron for The Sheffield Cats Shelter. 

“Having researched the importance of cats in ancient Egypt for many years, I am currently owned by two rescue cats who remind me every day that the Egyptians once worshipped their ancestors as gods!”

Frankie and Joann will each be attending the free-to-attend road social gathering, which is able to happen between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, September 9. 

The charity has deliberate stay music, video games stalls, stay streams from the cats’ rooms, vegetation and cat merchandise stalls, and has many prizes to be received. Cakes, mocktails and ice lollies will even be out there.

Nick Holland, the shelter’s fundraising and communications coordinator, stated: “We’ve been serving to cats in want for 126 years, and we predict that is price celebrating.

“This 12 months’s road social gathering can be greater and higher than ever earlier than, and we have ordered an additional serving to of solar. We hope plenty of individuals will come alongside to assist us and our cats and kittens.”
